Hello, I was born September 11, 1959. I have two sons, Steven and Charles II, ages 12 and 11, respectively. I have remained unmarried since the death of their mother in 1992.

I was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and have lived here for most of my life. I attended Bailey, Kirkpatrick, and Turner elementary schools. I attended Wright, and East junior high schools. I also attended East High School for a while, but then graduated from Glencliff High School.

I joined the Navy and was fortunate to visit many places around the world. But I guess I just wasn't made to be "a sailin' man." After four years in the military, and an honorable discharge, I decided to attend a local school, Middle Tennessee State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I also earned a minor in Social Work, and in Gerontology.

My hobbies are surfing the net, playing chess, studying Spanish, German, and Italian, and sometimes, perusing Civil War memorabilia. I don't care much for Television, but when I do watch, it is usually either a comedy, such as my favorite movie, Raisin' Arizona, something of a historical nature, such as Civil War documentaries, or something in the genre of a morality play. I guess there has to be some meaning for me somewhere.

I subscribe to the words of Jesus Christ, who once said, "judge not at all, that ye be not judged." I do, however, have some very solid beliefs. I believe very deeply that abortion is MURDER, plain and simple, and that, in great measure, because of it, life is becoming devalued in this country, and the right to it may soon be competely given over to the discretion of the state, the courts, big brother, if you like. I also believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. I do not, however, assume that every word of the bible was breathed by God himself, a fact which puts me at odds with many whom I greatly respect. I believe that the Bible, though inspired by God himself, was transmitted through fallible man, and may contain minor inconsistencies. However, there is, to my knowledge, no disputed scripture which affects the plan of salvation spoken of in the New Testament. And I remain supremely confident that there is no other book by which man can hope to find salvation so clearly outlined. "Believe on him who died in your place, and be saved." Christianity, the only religion I know of in which man is not told how to "achieve" salvation. Indeed, he is told that he cannot achieve it, no matter how hard he may try. It is the gift of God himself, wishing to show his divine mercy. He has made us all unfit, that he might save as many as call on him. There will, undoubtedly, be a final judgement on the appointed day, the time of which, no man knows. I'll close with a paraphrase of one of my favorite biblical admonitions spoken by the Savior himself: "search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life.
